Belief

by in News 6 May 2025

Beliefs are ideas about ourselves, others, and our world, often formed in childhood through interactions and experiences.

While we may not always be aware of them, beliefs affect our thoughts, feelings, and actions. They can support or hinder our mental well-being.

For instance, if you hold the belief that “I am not good enough,” it is likely that this belief has been shaped over many years through the accumulation of similar thoughts.

These thoughts may include: “I won’t be selected for that job, so why apply?”  or  “They are unlikely to accept my invitation”  or  “It is too hard”.

It is possible to challenge and alter thoughts related to our beliefs to lessen their impact on various aspects of our lives, such as relationships, work, and mental wellbeing.

It is never too late to undertake this process, particularly when we acknowledge that our former thoughts are no longer helpful, and we are willing to explore alternative approaches.

Bonacci Practice is equipped to assist you in identifying unhelpful beliefs and associated thoughts, challenging those thoughts, and restructuring them to enhance your mental well-being.
